Moving Right Along

We are moving right along! The living room is pulled together (but I'm holding back pictures for a later post), and we've stepped right into the dining room project. What will this next project entail? Wallpaper needs to come down, paint needs to go up, a few walls need some patching, and bead-board will be added below the chair rail. We will then re-purpose most of the existing pieces, steal a few pieces from other rooms in the house, and add a couple finishing touches. We also plan to add some organization stations to help this room function to the best of its ability.  Before we know it, we will have two rooms under our belt in a mater of just a week or two. NOT too shabby my friend, NOT- TO- SHABBY.  Did I mention these projects are being completed with 4 kids 4 and under running around...often with the help of some wonderful young ladies, but a distraction none-the-less.

I have to be honest,  I actually really liked the existing wallpaper a lot, but it wasn't going to work well with the new design direction.  We've already torn it down, but I'm saving all of that for an upcoming post.  In the meantime, I'm just going to remind you of the "before" pictures and show you the concept board for this space. Like any good parent, I can't spoil your dinner with dessert.....so eat your veggies first (i.e. look at the main idea) and I'll give you a treat later (i.e. I'll post awesome progress pictures as we go.)

Here's what we started with if you recall:

Here's where we plan to go (or at least the main concept for the space):

So many things happening! I can't wait to continue to share with you as the progress continues. This house will not only look much more appropriate for the residents, but if I do my job well, the house will soon function in a fashion that they will find to be much more suitable for their hectic life! That's all any of us need, right? A little rest at the end of our days filled with hustle and bustle. And how great is it when your home can become a big part of that rest! Until the next post, don't just dream big. Do big things. Life is way more fun when you give it a shot.
